Pumpkins:

We have done so much with pumpkins this week.  We used pumpkins to talk about height, weight, circumference, number of ribs, float/sink, number of seeds, and inside/outside. Here is a look at some of our great learning experiences:
We enjoyed the book Pumpkin Town and learned all kinds of new vocabulary words.
Then we wrote a sentence about what we thought would happen after dad threw the watermelon seeds out.

Myles and Alvis writing cvc words during Daily 5 word works

Pumpkin poem
We enjoyed retelling the poem using picture cards.

Learning all about the life cycle of a pumpkin and a few new vocabulary words.

Practicing our 2nd quarter sight words.

Practicing counting by 10's

FLOATS!!!!!!!!

Measuring the circumference of our pumpkins

What is inside a pumpkin? Pulp and seeds!

Time to scoop the pulp and seeds out. It is messy job. Some loved it and others were not too thrilled!

Mummies!
We have been working on mummies all week long. Look at the fun way we wrapped up the week!

First we read a great book about a Mummy then we sequenced the story.

Next we each started with our very own mummy figures and turned ourselves into a mummy.

We broke up into 2 teams to wrap a mummy you should of heard all the laughs and excitement.
