Daily 5 Sign  Up

This week we started to sign up for our own dailies. This is giving us the choice to pick which daily we want to go to first. We are currently using read to self and listen to reading. Students are loving being able to make the choice of what they want to go to first!

Our Next Daily : Word Works

During word works we focus on spelling and vocabulary work with children.
This allows us time for the following:
*Experimenting with words for learning and practice a spelling pattern
*Memorizing high-frequency words
* Generalizing spelling patterns
*Adding to our knowledge and curiosity of unique and interesting words

                                                                 

Listen to reading
Another one of our Daily 5 times We have 3 choices for this daily;listen to books on CD,our TAG readers and  different wed sites on our chrome books.Our stamina continues to increase daily! O

Next we wrote a sentence about who Swimmy met using a capital letter and punctuation. Then we got to paint our fish to match our sentence.

Example: Swimmy met the green fish.

Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch!

A huge thank you to PIE who sponsored our field trip to the Community Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch in Fort Dodge!
 We had so much fun!

We started our tour by getting on the Pumpkin Cruiser and headed out to the pumpkin fields were we were able to get out and search the field for our perfect pumpkin.

Next we were able to tour the apple orchard and learn all about the different types of apples we even got to pick our own. Next we got to tour were they store the apples and how to make apple cider.Finally we got to taste the apple cider.

After having a great lunch, the field trip was ended by playing in the Back 40 Playground. The kids loved it!
